Jouahibou Diakaté is a 27 year-old student-athlete from Dakar, Senegal. Jouah began playing basketball at the age of 15 and has only played for one club in Dakar: AS Douanes. Jouah is also studying at Dakar's premiere sports academy and hopes to be a coach and physical education teacher one day.
Daouda N'Doye began playing basketball at a young age when he grew and grew and grew... He's stopped growing but hasn't stopped playing. Daouda joined AS Douanes five years ago and has been a mainstay on the team ever since, though this past season he decided to accept an offer to play for a team in Morocco.
Coach Moustapha Gaye is a former Senegalese National Team player and coach. He teaches physical education in the Dakar school system and has been coaching in the local Dakar basketball league for seven years now. In 2007 he led the Douanes team to its 2nd national title and also took the reigns as head coach of Senegal's Women's National Team.
Sadani Thiam is a former National Team basketball player and now a sports journalist for Sun FM radio in Dakar. Sadani travels all over the world covering Senegalese and African sports.
Joaquim "Kikas" Gomes is a 4-time National Team selection for Angola. He began his playing career in Angola with Primeiro de Agosto's youth team before heading to the United States and Valparaiso University to play collegiately. After college, Kikas played one season in Holland before signing with the team that developed him at home in Angola, Primeiro, where he is currently one his country's and the continent's top players.
Olimpio Cipriano is a rising star in African basketball. Olimpio, who began playing with
Primeiro de Agosto, has competed in various international competitions for the Angola national basketball team, including the 2004 Summer Olympics and the FIBA Africa Championships in 2005 and 2007. At the 2005 tournament, Cipriano led the Angolans to defeat Senegal to capture first place for the 4th championship in a row. Cipriano was also MVP of the tournament. He was also a member of the Angola squad at the 2006 FIBA World Championship, where he averaged 13.8 points per game, including a high of 33 in a losing effort against Germany.
Cipriano played with the Detroit Pistons summer league team for two games before the 2007-08 NBA season before being cut.
